Our FacilityOur Staff
Our staff has a passion for teaching people and horses. Our philosophy for teaching can be summarized as follows:
RELATIONSHIP
We stress the importance of the relationship between our students (rider and/or owner) and the horse. This relationship is based on patience, kindness, compassion, understanding, and respect. We feel it is always best to "ASK" not "TELL" when working with a horse to get the best results. Recognizing each person and horse learns at their own pace and in their own form of communication, we adjust our teaching methods to meet the needs of each individual.
SAFETY
The main focus must always be on safety for the rider and for the horse. Knowing not only what to do, but why to do it helps people build lifelong habits. Because of this, the CCEC staff makes sure we explain all safety aspects in detail. Safety for the horse means keeping it healthy both physically and mentally, therefore, our riding lessons always include proper warm-up and cool down. We not only inspire our students to be confident and go beyond their current comfort level but to also be smart and always stay within the safety zone.
ENJOYMENT
The entire reason we work with horses is for the enjoyment. When the horse is healthy and capable, has properly fitted tack, and understands what the rider wants, it produces an elated experience for rider and horse. It is so strong that even observers can feel it. If something you are doing with your horse is not fun for you or your horse, you need to make a change. The CCEC staff can help you make that change.
